How to Prepare for USDC Rewards on March 17th

LayerDrone is the decentralized network that powers the Spexi app — coordinating drone pilots, verifying imagery, and distributing rewards.

When LayerDrone launches on Base Mainnet on March 17, 2026, the way pilots are compensated is evolving: instead of cash, pilots will earn USDC, a digital currency pegged 1:1 to the US Dollar, and rewarded directly to a wallet in your Spexi account. With this shift, USDC can be withdrawn to your bank account, and you’ll receive flight rewards much faster than the current bi-weekly system. Further instructions and support will be available in the coming weeks at support.layerdrone.org.

The Spexi app remains a pilot’s home base for missions, uploads, and displaying the wallet that manages your rewards.

Below is a summary of how pilot rewards are changing, and answers to the community's top questions on how to prepare.

How Pilot Rewards Are Changing on March 17th

Starting March 17, LayerDrone will begin rewarding pilots through the Spexi app in USDC – a stablecoin issued by Circle, pegged 1:1 to the US Dollar.  USDC rewards will replace the two-week cadence of the current cash system with Stripe. Rewards will appear in your Spexi account's wallet shortly after your uploaded imagery has been verified by the network – no more two week waits.

Getting your USDC rewards into your bank account works a little differently than cash payouts. The FAQ at support.layerdrone.org walks you through everything you need to know, and it will be regularly updated in the lead up to USDC rewards on March 17th. For now, everything pilots need to know is below.

How do I get paid starting March 17?

After LayerDrone launches on Base Mainnet on March 17, 2026, you'll receive USDC in the digital wallet connected to your Spexi account once a mission is successfully completed and verified by the network. Until March 17, 2026, pilot rewards will continue to be issued in cash via Stripe. You’ll continue to earn Reputation Points (RP) for successful missions before and after March 17th.

Where is my wallet in my Spexi account?

Most pilots will have a wallet created automatically when they sign up for Spexi. If you connected your own MetaMask wallet, that's what will be used instead. You can find your wallet address in your account settings — it starts with "0x…".

How do I transfer USDC to my bank account?

There are three steps to transfer your USDC to your bank account:

  1. First, send USDC from your Spexi account’s wallet to your account on an exchange like Coinbase or Kraken. Here’s how to create an account on Coinbase. Additional options and guidance on exchanges will be shared in the coming weeks.
  2. Second, on the exchange, convert USDC by selling it for fiat currency (USD or CAD).
  3. Third, transfer money from your exchange account to your bank account. You'll need to connect your bank account to your exchange account to do this.

You can also save your stablecoin rewards in your wallet or exchange accounts.

Help! Where do I go for support?

First, review support.layerdrone.org and its latest FAQ updates; additional guidance on wallets, exchanges, and managing digital assets will be published there before March 17.

Next, check the LayerDrone Discord to see if your question has been answered, but do not share any personal information there!

If your question hasn’t been answered, visit the Spexi Support Portal to open a ticket with Spexi's support team. Do not create multiple tickets for the same issue.
